In the interests of both clients and practitioners, most professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy require members to incorporate supervision into their clinical practice.
Supervision enables a therapist to; review their work with clients, their professional development, and often their personal development as well. Supervision is a professional service rather than a managerial role. It exists to protect clients by involving an impartial third party in the work of counsellor and client. It also exists to improve the ability of counsellors to provide counselling for their clients by; offering opportunity to reflect on the therapeutic relationship as well as to gain insight and awareness from the perspective of another therapist.
I offer an integrative theoretical approach to supervision, whilst my experience in; voluntary sector, EAP contract work, private practice and healthcare settings informs my understanding of the context of the therapeutic relationship.
As an MBACP Accredited Counsellor I am guided by the BACP Framework for Good Practice.
I offer individual supervision to students and qualified counsellors. I also facilitate group supervision if required.
Supervision Cost: £40 per hour
